CREATIVE DANCE PHOTO SHOOT
“The main thing is to be creative, to love, to hope, to live and enjoy the moment”
~ Susanne Akerstrom
I had the pleasure to photograph dancers earlier this year with my friend Sharon( Sharon Lewis photography ). It was a fantastic experience to be creative. To be able to photograph something I’m fascinated by – the human body and movement. To capture elegance, power & grace.
We rented Moorland village hall, located just outside Bridgwater for the mornings photo shoot – my car was full of props, dresses and tulle but we needed the extra space and higher ceilings the village hall offered.
Lauren and Olivia the two dancers had kindly arranged for two of their friends to come and help, and assist with throwing fabric and tulle in the air. In the end we photographed their friend Beth as well. Lauren and Olivia did a superb job posing the dance moves and showcasing their unique style.
Lauren is a strong ballerina with elegance in spades, and Olivia is more a powerhouse with a flare for contemporary moves. It was a fun day with lots of laughs and many out takes. Much respect to Lauren, Olivia & Beth’s talent and patience. They had very sore feet at the end.
Hope you all enjoy looking at my images as much as I enjoyed taking them.
